About the Academy

The Anton Rubinstein International Music Academy offers talented young musicians individually customisable study opportunities ranging from comprehensive artistic training and qualifying postgraduate studies to private lessons and masterclasses. Our aim is to provide intensive, focussed music studies at an international level in a family atmosphere.

Renowned teachers with international concert and stage experience accompany and advise students on their path to a professional career as a musician. The individual artistic and professional development of each student is at the centre of our pedagogical attention. In our varied programme of events, which includes several concert series and international competitions, our students can gain important concert experience.

Successful completion of studies at the Anton Rubinstein International Academy of Music is confirmed by our study certificates. In cooperation with the Italian music academies “Giacomo Puccini” in La Spezia and Conservatorio “P.I. Tchaikovsky” in Catanzaro, we also offer the state-recognised Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degrees. In May 2014, the German-Italian business association MERCURIO recognised the importance of such a binational degree programme with a special award for “German-Italian Intercultural Achievements”.

The premises of the Music Academy are located in the listed baroque building “Goldener Helm” in the heart of Düsseldorf’s lively old town. The major music institutions of the Rhineland state capital such as the Tonhalle Düsseldorf or the Deutsche Oper am Rhein, concert halls such as the Palais Wittgenstein and the Robert Schumann Saal as well as the important art museums are just a few minutes’ walk from here.

Since its foundation in 2002, the Anton Rubinstein International Music Academy has worked closely with Steinway Haus Düsseldorf, which provides the music academy with high-quality instruments for competitions and classical soirées on the Kö.
